Today is a good day! John McCain picked a very strong running mate in Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska. He himself said this about her:

"I am honored to announce that I have chosen Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as my choice for the Republican nominee for Vice President. As a father with three daughters, I can't express how proud I am to choose the first female Republican Vice-Presidential nominee. Sarah Palin is a trailblazer and a reformer. As the first female governor of Alaska, she challenged a corrupt system and has been a tireless advocate for reform - passing a landmark bill on ethics reform. She has taken on the old politics in Alaska and reformed the state's energy industry. She rejects wasteful pork barrel spending. She's fearless - exactly the type of leader I want at my side and the type of leadership we will bring to Washington."

McCain has brilliantly also captured the press today. The pomp and pageantry of last nights close of the Democratic convention is buried by not only this announcement of the McCain-Palin ticket but also by Hurricane Gustav. Now that he has picked a strong partner and has the full attention of the media, for once, he needs to do the following:

Shatter the image the Democrat's painted that

his 1st Term = Bush's 3rd term.
Let America know how much Obamas Changes would cost

Prove that Obamas dream is would be an economic disaster
Point out Obamas weakness in foreign policy.

Tonight, Senator Obama will accept the Democratic Parties nomination for president

In 2001, Ayers Did Not Express Regret For His Past Conduct And Even Claimed The Weather Underground "Didn't Do Enough" Bombings. "Mr. Ayers wrote a memoir, 'Fugitive Days,' published in 2001, and on the day of the September 11 terrorist attacks, he was quoted by the New York Times as saying: 'I don't regret setting bombs. The fact that Barack Obama chose to launch his political career at the home of an unrepentant terrorist reflects not only a lack of judgment, but also real questions about his views. Obama's response to the ad? A full-throated defense of his long association with a man who says he didn't bomb enough U.S. targets. That tells us more about Barack Obama than any of the speeches we saw Monday night ever could.

Personal Morality and Public Policy

I just learned that Senator Obama said the following in a 2004 speech:

“Secularists are wrong when they ask believers to leave their religion at the door before entering into the public square. Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, William Jennings Bryan, Dorothy Day, Martin Luther King — indeed, the majority of great reformers in American history — were not only motivated by faith, but repeatedly used religious language to argue for their cause. To say that men and women should not inject their ‘personal morality’ into public policy debates is a practical absurdity. Our law is by definition a codification of morality, much of it grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition.”

Obama is absolutely right. To argue that one can’t vote one’s conscience on issues is morally and intellectually incoherent — for both politicians and ordinary voters.

But,....If Obama is a Christian, as he claims to be, then how is it that he is able to embrace his “murder on demand” position on Abortion? Could it simply be that "his personal morality" has been bought and paid for by Planned Parenthood?

One Nation......Under God?

This nation was founded by a people greatly concerned with the protection of individual freedom. Much careful time and effort was placed upon the creation of a system of governing which insured the protection of the individual from the tyranny of the state. The checks and balances between the three branches of government were created to establish and maintain this balance and harmony.

It is this very focus upon the rights of the individual, I fear, that will also be responsible for dismantling the rich Christian Heritage that was also an important aspect of this nations founding. How can that be you might ask? On the surface these two facets of our society seem extremely complimentary. But, over the last view decades, selfishness has captured center stage in this country and a focus on the rights of the individual has been championed, I feel, to the detriment of society as a whole.

In short, what I am saying is that an important problem with democratic rule is that sometimes the majority opinion is DEAD WRONG. As a society, we want to be protected from both a dictatorship and a mob rule. What do we do however when a small facet of society successfully lobbies through a variety of influential ways to “over-throw” decades of honorable and correct policy, in favor of excepting sinful behavior as the norm? I am a firm believer that absolute truth exists and that it finds its ultimate expression and definition in God, the God of the Hebrews, the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When the democratic process no longer recognizes or honors the truth and a society chooses to turn its back on its maker and go their own way, they are headed for disaster.

The Bible speaks at length about protecting the fatherless and the widow, so a focus of the protection of individual rights has all the appearance of biblical chivalry on the surface. But when a behavior that is sinful at its core is dressed up in the flag and protected as an inalienable right, then we as a nation have to take responsibility for its allowance. We must remember it was the people of Germany that allowed Adolph Hitler and his Nazi Regime to come to power. They, as well as the world at large, suffered for their mistake.

Abortion is allowed in this country today, because it has been successfully argued in our court systems by the misguided that personal rights shall trump the protection of innocent life. Murder is now legal if your victim is young enough to be undefined by the courts! Likewise now the Gay, Lesbian, Transsexual, Bisexual communities desire to twist the truth and redefine marriage and have their lifestyles sanctioned as a mainstream norm.

The homosexual community has been successfully in establishing in many minds in America that their personal rights are under attack and that their behavior choice should be protected as a civil right. Could it simply be that the difficulties they are experiencing are merely the consequences of their own sinful actions? Over the last several decades Tim Gill and wealthy, politically active homosexuals like him have, very stealthily, made inroads into a variety of political powerhouses. They have actively pursed pushing their agenda into numerous unions and lobby groups and are finding some success wooing a place on the political platforms of both major parties.

As Christians, we are called to Love the sinner and hate the sin. When addressing this issue, I feel as if my way of life is being attacked and devalued. I admit that I struggle to love those that are responsible for this. I do pray regarding this issue, but I confess it is not always for my attackers to enter the kingdom of heaven. In truth, however, our God loves and forgives his children and there will be homosexuals in heaven. As I engage in discussing my thoughts on this subject I need to remember that and act as a true child of God.

Over 1.1 million Californians signed petitions to qualify Proposition 8 for the state ballot, considerably more than the 694,354 signatures needed. This overwhelming success in obtaining a position on the ballot underscores that a large group of voters hold family values and want marriage defined in the traditional way. As one of them, I know I intend to do all I am able, to see that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

I will not be surprised however if we lose this battle in November. The damage may already be done. This once great nation may have already begun its slow decay.

Could it just be part of the overall plan? Communism has crumbled and deemed a complete failure, could democracy be next? Could the freedom inherent in our government become its Achilles heel and lead to its very downfall? I pray that I am wrong, but my true allegiance is to my Lord and King not my country or nation. Our God is a jealous God; his ultimate desire is for us to find Him sufficient to meet all of our needs.

Remember when the law was given to the people of Israel through Moses, there were provisions for a king, though the nation had no human king. God made this provision because he knew their hearts would desire to be like other nations and they would want a king. After leading Israel into the land of Promise and fighting their battles for them, God was grieved when they sought to be ruled by a human king “like other nations”. Though they had the benefit of God residing in their very presence, their desire to be like other nations, lead to idolatry and ultimately to the destruction of the temple and the captivity of the nation

The Book of Revelation tells of a new Kingdom to be established, along with a new heaven and a new earth. In fact all things will be made new. These issues regarding the protection of individual rights will not even be spoken of there. Only one thing will be of importance there and it will cause us to say:

“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord Almighty!”

Persecution of Gods faithful is coming, either in this battle or the next. I stand ready to engage the enemy in the full armor of God. I remain His I remain ALL IN.

I have become a Symbol?

Do you think the redistribution of wealth by the federal government is one of Americas best traditions? How about free child care? Free college tuition? Wage insurance? Nationalizing oil refineries? A global tax paid to the United Nations?

If none of these sounds like Americas best traditions its because they are not.

The latest blunder that Senator Obama has made is to place Senator Joe Biden on the ticket as his running mate ( one of his strongest detractors in the primaries!) Perhaps Senator Obama would have done better to pick the Artist formerly know as Prince, also now just a symbol!

Just ask any Historian...

People who know history know that once-great cultures that embraced homosexuality as mainstream and dominant (ancient Greece and Rome) soon fell into "former greatness." People who know their Bible are familiar with the Genesis story, where the homosexuals of the town of Sodom treated Lot and his family roughly because of their selfish desire to have carnal relations with them. The modern day homosexual community is displaying similar distain for anyone who gets in the way of their agenda. People who voted for Arnold Schwarzeneggar now know that he is completely compromised and sold out to defending the militant gay agenda.

The Battle for the Culture is well underway in this country, and the shame of it is that, while Christians make up something like 50% of the populace and homosexuals less than 2%, the homosexuals are clearly winning. Still, we should not be surprised: The membership of the Soviet Communist Party comprised only approximately 3% of the Soviet Union's population, yet ruled a vast empire with an iron hand for over 70 years. History shows again though what a "great" job the Communists did in ruling the Soviet Union: We can expect worse if and when the homosexuals are in complete control.

TRUTH!.....above Barak Obama's Pay Grade

Barak Obama has received much criticism for his answer to an abortion-related question at Rick Warren's recent Saddleback Civil Forum.

Warren asked, "At what point does a baby get human rights in your view?" Obama's stuttering response: "Well, I think that whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade."
Obama has some good company. The US Supreme Court said essentially the same thing in Roe v. Wade: "We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, at this point in the development of man's knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer."

But, interestingly enough, both Obama and the Supreme Court, unable to answer the question, decide to behave with extreme prejudice rather than exercising a measure of caution and safety, both prefer to treat life as disposable.

Unfortunately. as with Barak Obama and the Supreme Court, there are sadly very few willing to speak for the unborn. I believe that matters of great concern to the voters should be addressed by those wishing to hold Americas highest office. The dismissive view presented by Mr. Obama in Saturday’s Forum is a slap in the face to the American voter.

If one is unable or unwilling to protect the most basic liberty of the most vulnerable among us, he will be ill suited to the task of defending our other liberties.

Homosexuality ....a Civil Rights Issue...NOT!

The homosexual community has been trying desperately to paint their cause as a Civil Rights Issue. Any restriction they feel as a group or as individuals is immediately labeled as discrimination. Their myopic view of the world runs contrary to the facts however.

The Civil Rights Marches in the sixties were a time of great upheaval. A time when we as a nation, through pain and suffering, came to realize that a great injustice had been done. It was a difficult time, but people of all races came to realize that God created all men to be equal. Affirmative action was developed in response to decades of unequal treatment, to assist and support the African American people, to heal past hurts and provide “a leg up” to those most hurt by discrimination. The Christian Church was an active participant in embracing these cultural changes and bringing healing to a hurting nation.

However, the Civil Rights Marches in the sixties were not based upon individual or group behavior, but based upon race and the equal opportunity for all races. The question we as a society must ask ourselves now is this: Shall every behavior, no matter how amoral or disgraceful receive official sanction and what amounts to special protection under the law? And if marriage is redefined for the homosexual, should it not also be redefined to encompass any sort of relationship at all?

Civil Union ceremonies between homosexual couples were specifically created to placate the homosexual desire for legalized relationship and have been available for several years. Such ceremonies can provide same sex couples with “legal sanction” and “protection” similar that of traditional Marriage. But the homosexual community is not satisfied with that; their desire is to redefine Marriage for all of us.

The Civil Rights movement never required white America to give anything up, only to recognize the God given equality of African American Community. My concern is that this “Homosexual Rights Movement” is redefining something that my wife, my Lord and I entered into together. Marriage is a sacred institution, not to be toyed with. A “NO” vote on Proposition 8 this November will help to forever change the meaning of Marriage in our society. Gods design and plan for man is constantly under attack by the world. He is ever present and watching His church.

We need to respond by redefining on Gods behalf, what marriage is defined as, in the State of California. Passing Proposition 8 protects our children and places into the California Constitution this simple definition:
That a marriage is between a man and a woman.

If at first you DO succeed, Lie, Lie, again!

The folks behind the movement to redefine marriage in the State of California and by default the rest of the nation have decided to not pull any punches. Apparently they truly believe that “All is fair in the political arena”. On the heals of the California Supreme Courts arrogant decision to ignore the voters (Proposition 22 in 2006) and “legalize” same sex marriage in May of this year, Proposition 8 qualified for the 2008 election Ballot. Over 1.1 million signatures were gathered to secure its position on the ballot when just slightly over 600 thousand were required.

The opponents of Proposition 8 then attempted several maneuvers to have it removed with a variety of frivolous lawsuits. Then, just two weeks ago, State Attorney General Jerry Brown re-titled the proposition from "limits marriage between one man and one woman" to "a constitutional change to eliminate the right of same sex couples to marry."

In another stunning move by the courts, the Sacramento Superior Court ruled August 8th, that Attorney General Jerry Brown may change Proposition 8's title to favor homosexual marriage. Once again, the people of California are held hostage by a tyrannical judicial system determined to implement a radical social agenda. Activist judges and politicians are throwing every obstacle they can in the way of restoring the true definition of marriage.

What is the latest maneuver, you may ask? Well believe it or not there are bumper stickers being made and distributed that twist the Truth and say:

“Protect Marriage – Vote No on Proposition 8”

Such an obvious and directly misleading strategy by the opponents of Proposition 8 should be expected. The Father of Lies is willing to do whatever it takes to destroy both marriages and families in his quest to capture souls. The battle continues and the siege works are being erected for a show down in November. Have no fear; we Christians know how the battle ends. Even if Proposition 8 is defeated in this November skirmish, Christ Jesus has already won the War and the Father of Lies is going down in flames!
